How much does an eye test cost?

All bulk-billed to Medicare (if you are covered by Medicare) so no out of pocket costs. Most contact lens fits and teaches are not covered by Medicare and we can quote you on this.

How long will it take?

Allow 40 minutes for most full tests but will take longer if you require drops in your eyes to enlarge your pupils.

What’s included in a test?

A full exam involves a refraction plus anterior eye microscopy, retinal photos and ophthalmoscopy, and tonometry. Medicare pay for a full test very 3 years if you are under 65, and every year if over 65.

Will I need a driver?

If we use dilating eye drops then it is recommended to have one. We use dilating drops commonly if you are a diabetic or have symptoms like new floaters, flashes, or sudden loss of vision.

How do my health fund extras come into it?

We have the HICAPS terminal to claim your extras payment on your behalf in store.

Do you do no gap health fund packages?

We do have frames ranges that are fully covered if you have extras cover and you have not claimed in this period of cover.

Where can I park?

We are next to Drakes Supermarket so there is plenty of parking available.
